Centre For Healthcare Redesign

Redesign Engineer with Patient

If you work in the healthcare system and see an opportunity to improve a process or service, the Centre for Healthcare Redesign can provide you the tools and support to make that innovation happen.

Through our education programs, you'll develop an understanding of the Redesign Methodology that underpins development and implementation of sustainable change. You will work alongside other participants on a project of your own, implementing a redesigned process that will ultimately benefit patients and staff.

A combination of eLearning, workplace coaching and face-to-face attendance over 20 weeks balances work/study flexibility with those motivating targets and deadlines.

The program results in not only an increased capacity in the healthcare system and improvements in the patient experience, but also an identifiable improvement project to your name and the opportunity to be awarded a Diploma in Project Management.

Previous program participants have included Redesign and Patient Flow Managers, Nursing Unit Managers and Nurse Managers, Medical Practitioners, Administration and Finance Managers, Complex and Chronic Care Coordinators and a variety of specialists from Aboriginal, Community and Maternal Health.

Modules include:

  • Change Management - Accelerating Implementation Methodology
  • Patient and Carer Experience
  • Project Management
  • Clinical Practice Improvement
  • Leadership and Management

Individual components of the eLearning program are available to all NSW Health staff through the GEM learning platform.
