While in the Emergency Department our patients and carers may experience high levels of fear and anxiety due to the frantic nature of the environment. Often our patients and their carers are provided with minimal information about the process and procedures of the department while waiting. To help alleviate some of these feelings it is important to inform our patients and cares why they area waiting and what to expect as they move through the Emergency Department.
