Methods for involving patient and carers

Collect Patient and Carer Stories

NSW Health Clinical Services Redesign Program (CSRP) has developed a method for capturing and analysing patient and carer experiences.

Patient and Carer Surveys

Patient and carer surveys are a useful way to verify the information derived through patient and carer interviews and/or to provide interim feedback throughout the project.

Focus Groups

Focus Groups are a way gaining the patient's and/or carer's views on the way health services are delivered, from their perspective.  It involves group discussion centred around gaining insight into what the patients think we, as health professionals, do well and how we can improve their experieince.

Patient Tagalong - Map the Patient Journey

A patient journey provides a unique picture of how the local hospital environment operates through the eyes and ears of your patients.  Captured patient stories highlight areas that require improvement and can inform Key Performance Indicators.
