Predictable Surgery Program

The Predictable Surgery Program is a set of key strategies developed by the Surgical Services Taskforce to improve the delivery of surgical services in NSW.

The acronym PREDICTABLE describes the important aspects of this program.

Each year more than 200,000 patients have booked (elective) surgery in NSW public hospitals. Waiting list management is a challenging, dynamic and complex process requiring input from and coordination by a multidisciplinary team.

Emergency surgery is a major component of the provision of surgical services for the population of NSW and is often more complex and surgically challenging than elective surgery.

A range of resources to improve patient safety in the operating theatre, including incident reports and infection control.
