Health Service Delivery

Innovations in improving an individual's care, the delivery of care to a patient group. A patient group may be those that present to a particular service (emergency, maternity, etc) or with a non-clinical characteristic (aged, rural and remote).

It is divided in to these subheadings:

  • Allied Health

    Innovations in allied health including oral care, speech pathology, physiotherapy, nutrition/dietetics, etc.

  • Cultural Diversity

    Innovations improving health outcomes for patients in diverse ethnic groups.

  • Emergency Services

    Emergency care including emergency admission to ED and hospital, measuring and monitoring clinical status, clinical safety, adequate and appropriate staffing, etc.

  • Indigenous Services

    Innovations aimed at improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.

  • Maternity & Obstetrics

    Innovations relating to maternity care, including obstetrics, midwifery, antenatal, postnatal and neo natal care.

  • Medical

    Innovations in the management of medical care including mental health, oncology, drug and alcohol, renal medicine, anaesthesia and pain management, etc.

  • Older Persons

    Innovations in the improvement of the continuity and effectiveness of care for older people in the acute sector and in the community.

  • Paediatrics

    Innovations in the care of children, including hospital avoidance, and parent/patient education.

  • Rural & Remote

    Innovative approaches to the delivery of health services in rural and remote areas.

  • Surgery

    Innovations in all aspects of clinical care in operating theatres, and includes elective surgery.
