NSW Paediatric Emergency Medicine Online Resource Centre

This project aims to increase knowledge and familiarity in managing children who present with complex acute paediatric problems to emergency departments.

A web-based education centre available across NSW will bring cases with discussion to clinicians at various levels of complexity. The cases will demonstrate a clinical problem and identify the evidence which can be translated into best practice.

Clinical reasoning and reflective discussion of cases allows real life issues to be considered. These include cases where evidence needs to balance with the individual needs of the child and awareness of the situation for the family and practitioner.

The education programs currently run in paediatric emergency medicine are well regarded, however access to them in limited by distance and time. This project aims to bring clinical education of proven value to a wider audience.

Sponsored by the Ministerial Taskforce on Emergency Care in NSW.
