2008 NSW HEALTH AWARDS AND EXPO

10th Annual NSW HEALTH AWARDS

2008 is the 10th year of the NSW Health Awards, originally titled the ‘Better Health, Good Health Care Awards’. The inaugural NSW Health Awards were established in 1999 to recognise the outstanding contributions of NSW Health professionals and showcase commitment to quality, innovation and excellence. The Awards are now the premier event on the NSW Health Calendar. The popularity of the Awards has grown steadily over the decade. The 97 entries in 1999 rose to 257 in 2006, and it was necessary in 2007 to introduce a 2 - stage process to make the judging process manageable. In 2007 a total of 339 submission were received by Health Services to their local Awards competitions, from which they selected 123 as entries to the statewide competition.

The 10th Annual NSW Health Awards mark a decade of excellence across NSW Health. We take this opportunity to reflect on the successes of the past and build on them for the future.

3rd Annual NSW Health Expo

NSW Health is excited to present the third annual Health Expo which will be held at the Australian Technology Park, Sydney on Friday 31st October 2008 and is open for anyone to attend. This year the expo will be streamlined to deliver a day of high value to all participants. This exciting premier event on the NSW Health calendar is a great opportunity to learn by sharing knowledge and experience with colleagues and counterparts from across the state.

Presentations will be of a very high standard, showcasing the most recent innovations in prevention, quality patient care and other improvements aimed at achieving NSW Health’s vision - ‘Healthy People – Now and In The Future’.

Registration is free and opens in early September 2008!
