Redesign
Redesign is one of NSW Health’s most ambitious and important reform programs.
With an ageing population, demand on our hospitals and health services is forecast to continue growing. To ensure we can manage to meet this demand we’re going to have to improve the way we do some things, and that’s what Redesign is about.
In 2004 the Redesign program was granted $70 million funding covering three years of activity. So far over 75 Redesign projects have been successfully implemented across the NSW health system.
Redesign is focused on improving patient journeys. We're working to get the NSW health system to deliver better patient experiences and improve overall performance, quality and safety.
Over the last two years the Redesign team has worked with several experienced external partners to develop and implement a unique process improvement methodology. Following this success we're now starting to train our own "consultants" through the launch of the Centre for Healthcare Redesign in August 2007.
