Redesign has developed an e-learning module on collecting patient & carer stories for NSW Health Leaders.
The module explains the methodology of capturing patient & carer experience and provides resources and tools to collect the stories.

Presentations
In order to conduct an effective trial of patient and carer experience interviews, the CSRP Program Office has coordinated the delivery of workshops, presentations and training sessions. Attached below are two key presentations underpinning patient and carer interviews.
The first presentation relates to improving patient and carer experience through the use of patient and carer interviews. It provides an overview of the interview methodology, ways of extracting data as well as qualitative insights and practical advice regarding all aspects of conducting interviews. The second, complementary, presentation provides practical training in interviewing and communication skills. This includes effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills, dealing with difficult/angry patients and the relative merit of different question styles.
These presentations are very easy to follow and sufficiently detailed to enable self paced learning.
