Abstract

SHN Child and Family Health Service were faced with the mandated response to offer a UHHV to all families as part of the Families NSW framework. This strategy affected 28 centres, 45 staff and 4,300 families.

It was evident that considerable time savings in current practice were required if benchmarks were to be met, this was achieved by the implementation of groups as common practice within a new service delivery model.

Availability of groups has increased by over 50% within eighteen months and provided time for clinicians’ to meet UHHV benchmarks.

Best practice principles, a systematic approach, involving all staff and the implementation of groups have enabled us to achieve a 90% UHHV rate.
