Abstract
In the Forbes community there were high levels of referrals of children identified as having behavioural difficulties, which highlighted the inability of clinicians to refer families with children identified with behavioural problems to an appropriate, parenting program.
A need was identified to be able to provide an accessible process to enable parents and carers to become appropriately responsive to the behavioural and emotional needs of pre-school and primary school aged children.
The plan was to provide a program in an organised and structured way working in partnerships with other agencies involved with the physiological and psychological care of children.
