Abstract
In a world of competitive career opportunity, it is imperative for the future of nursing that we offer attractive nursing career options when students are making career decisions.
With this in mind, a partnership was formed by key stakeholders to develop a program that would enable students the opportunity to explore nursing as a career whilst still at school. The program offers an innovative combination of theoretical and clinical components utilising tertiary sector curricula and community and health training packages.
It is anticipated that in the future students will be eligible for academic credit towards the University Admissions Index and also for recognition of prior learning when applying for a position at a university for a Bachelor of Nursing Course.
