NSW Health Business Information Program

NSW Health has been working to develop and deliver business information systems to promote:

  • a performance-based culture
  • evidence based decision making
  • an increased emphasis on management accountability and
  • support capability development

NSW Health's Business Information (BI) Program is a four year program which began on 1 July, 2007. It will support recent service delivery changes such as:

  • the amalgamation of 21 Area Health Services to 11
  • improved patient journeys through the Redesign Program
  • a move towards a Shared Corporate Services model
  • State-wide Information Technology Reform

These service delivery changes have created new business information demands and highlighted the need for real time, relevant information to management.
